Maintenance Technician
Basic Duties:
Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical issues and repair of all machines. Includes general and preventative maintenance on production machinery. Maintain tracking of all maintenance activities and costs using a database. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Position Responsibilities:
Perform advanced troubleshooting of mechanical/electrical issues and repair of all types of machines in the facility.
Perform general and preventative maintenance on production machinery.
Maintain tracking of all maintenance activities, machine downtime, repair hours, and repair costs using a database. Provide related routine reports to management.
Repair/modify production machinery. Fabricate machinery components and replacement parts. Build, repair and install machine guards.
Know and understand the plant safety regulations. Employ proper lifting techniques and other ergonomic principles.
Know and understand the relevant sections of ST’s ISO Quality Management System and how they apply to this job.
Understand continual improvement principles and their application.
Contribute to continual improvement and promote an effective team oriented approach to problem solving.
Position Specification:
Four years of progressive CNC maintenance experience or an associate degree in CNC machine maintenance, with one year of experience is a plus, not required.
Experienced in mechanical/electrical maintenance on CNC machine tools. Background in working with Swiss-style CNC screw machines preferred.
Understand mechanical, electric, pneumatic, and hydraulic principles and their possible interaction. Have a mechanical aptitude.
Knowledge and ability to work with electricity, and to read schematics.
Ability to work on lifts, ladders, and in awkward positions. Able to lift, manipulate, and position heavy machine components and motors.
Read prints, layouts, parts lists, assembly drawings, operating manuals, and troubleshooting instructions.
Able to work independently.
Understand continual improvement principles and their application.
Follow safe practices and observe ergonomic principles and guidelines.
Have basic tools and inspection equipment.
