Swiss-Tech Material Validation
We handle a huge variety of materials and work closely with our customers when new and exotic parts are needed.
Every part that we manufacture requires specific grades of materials. Swiss-Tech uses a handheld XRF Material Spectrometer to verify exact grades of materials for every job. Every individual operator and inspection employee at Swiss-Tech is trained on the XRF spectrometer.
The XRF quality scanner can be calibrated for alloy, gold, precious metals, bulk material like E-scrap and catalytic converters, soil, mining, restricted materials, and materials specific to our customers.
Since its adoption there have been several times that the XRF spectrometer has alerted us to supplier material that was questionable. Engineering was able to screen materials to maintain a high degree of confidence that the correct material is always issued to a job.
Bar Coding
Swiss-Tech uses bar coding as another way to track material. After the receiving raw material, it is checked for conformity and assigned a bar code. The product can them be tracked through the entire production process. This gives full traceability from raw material to the shipment of finished goods to our customer. It is also extremely beneficial to understanding inventory and eliminated human error in ERP transactions
